A MOTHER’S CARE (AMC) Academy, located in Miami, Fl, focuses on the fundamental
skills often overlooked in early childhood education, inspired by Kenneth Stevens,
affectionately known as ‘KC.’ AMC is an extension of his early childhood center, which
opened in 1999. As a former correctional officer, KC witnessed the effects of what the
absence of love and proper foundational education can do to our children for twenty-nine
years. While AMC accepts all ages, there is a focus on birth to fifth grade, high school
recovery, and adult high school diploma and technical certification students.
Our early learning program builds on the foundational educational needs of our students.
Through games, songs, and hands-on activities, students are equipped with the knowledge to
explore and figure it out based on their foundational knowledge. These critical thinking skills
allow them to retain new information quickly due to genuine understanding and comprehension
rather than memorization and regurgitation.
Students build upon prior knowledge and new knowledge to create. Through projects, puzzles,
and other building activities, students' access and understanding of the world around them
A blended learning environment has been assembled for students who may have struggled in
the regular classroom and need assistance and support to finish their high school diploma.
